WALK NOTES

PLEASE READ THE NOTES BELOW BEFORE CARRYING OUT A WALK

WALKING

All the walks on this site have been carried out over the last few years. They should provide visitors with a great deal of pleasure, subject to careful planning in advance and during the walk. Please observe the countryside code.

The webmaster cannot be held responsible for any errors in text or changes that do occur due to diversion orders and permissions being withdrawn. If any reader finds that changes have been made to a route, it will be appreciated if they make contact.

Walking can be strenuous and it is up to the individual to assess their level of fitness. All the walks described are easy and should not present difficulties to a moderately fit person carrying appropriate clothing, equipment and maps. Care should always be taken to carefully supervise children and animals in the country and on the roads.

On some of the walks, stiles will be encountered that may present problems to certain people including dog owners. No time has been given to complete the walks as these can vary considerably dependent on fitness and the number of stops.

TRANSPORT

All the walks listed on this website are easily accessible by public transport. For further information contact: www.derbysbus.info and take note of arrival and likely departure times. For those using their own transport parking will normally be available near the start of the walk. Non-National Trust members will be charged to park at Kedleston Hall. If using a pub car park please request permission in advance and return for refreshments.

REFRESHMENT STOPS

Opening times at pubs and teashops frequently vary according to the time of the year – last-minute changes are not uncommon. In case of uncertainty and where there are no other suitable alternatives, it is always best to check in advance.
